This family. What can I say?
When I thought about photographing 3 children I have to admit I was a bit nervous. I won't lie.
But I shouldn't of been nervous at all, Caitlin and Andy are THE most relaxed parents on the planet and because of that so were their kids. If there is any advice I can give parents before their photoshoot, it would be to channel some CALM, it really helps a lot. Your kids feed off you in a way that is quite amazing. Im not saying the whole photoshoot went without a hitch, they never ever do, its part of photographing children......but it was a lot of fun and we were able to create some pretty fun images together. Images that I am very very proud of.
Hope you enjoy this Blog post of the Kehoe family amongst the mangroves and beautiful long grass of Nudgee Beach in Brisbane's north.
Yes Caitlin looks so gorgeous because of the awesome Olivia! From Little Olive Styling, thanks Liv xxx
This image was one of the last frames of the day.... hence the sweets :) The kids did amazing, mum and dad were getting into the swing of our photoshoot and were connecting beautifully. Its what I dream of when I prepare for a shoot of any kind. Being able to capture your connection, whether we are at a beach on the Sunshine Coast or a park in Brisbane it doesn't matter, thats just a backdrop. What matters is your images convey how you really feel about each other.... thats the difference between a snap shot and an image that has been created with team effort. That team is you and your preparation before the shoot, Olivia doing her thang with hair and makeup and me as the photographer on the day helping you to relax and enjoy your experience.
Professional portraits are not flukes, they are thoughtful elements that come together to create magic....... Bx
Remi and Hugo what good sports you are.
It was one of those shoots that everything that could go wrong did..... I woke up off, had the "i got a cold coming on" feeling, not in the mood for anything that doesn't involve a bed. (Pull yourself together Britt!) Then driving to the shoot there was an accident on the highway so we totally missed sunset (throwing mental tantrum in my head) and then once we arrived to our pretty destination the sun disappeared ..... we had 10 minutes of light if that. The kids were a bit crazy from being stuck in the car for so long so when they finally got out they were like little tornados! ha.
But it doesn't matter, these things happen and you can't stress about it you just have to go with it and do your best.
I absolutely LOVE this shot of little Remi dancing like a crazy person showing me her contemporary ballet moves... haha. I actually think this shot was worth all the drama!
Moral of the story.... expect the unexpected and smile through it all..... :)
The perfect client... does it exist? YES IT DOES. These guys were perfection from start to finish. Simmone and I worked along with eachother to make their afternoon perfect. We spoke about clothes, hair and makeup, where to meet, what time, what to expect and how to get the most out of their time with me. You can see from the images that everything fell together beautifully but these things don't happen by chance. It takes planning and effort but its so worth it! These images will be treasured for a life time and i'll be proud of them for about the same amount of time. :)
What a stupidly gorgeous family they are. In love with these 5.
Lots of love from me. Hope this isn't the last time we meet.
