natural light portraits brisbane

One of my favourites - North Brisbane Family Photography

Introducing my beautiful friends the Cutrupi’s! I love these guys so much. Tracy and I met a few years back and now I count her as one of my best friends. We bonded over our love of photography and the love for her two little cuties pies :) The sweetest little girls you have ever met and the most loving. What a privilege to take your friends portraits, it takes a lot of trust and vulnerability to be photographed and let go of all of your fears. I’m so glad you did because these are definitely some of my favourite family portraits i’ve ever done.

Love you 4 heaps!!!!

Lets do it again!

Wedding Portrait - Brisbane Botanical Gardens

I am totally up for thinking outside the box and challenging the norm. Bet you didn't know that about me :)

 Dave and Mel are also like this, they wanted their wedding day to be about them and their guests.  They didn't want to leave their friends for a couple of hours and miss out on all the fun.  I totally get that.  It's your wedding day, you do what ever the hell you want!  So when they asked me to take their portraits after the wedding day I jumped at the chance.

I knew straight away this was an opportunity to take some stunning portraits in a very very relaxed setting without all the stress of the wedding day.  It didn't disappoint!

We took their engagement photos in a pretty sunny spot with long grass so this time we wanted something a little different and quirky..... thank you Mount Cootha Botanical Gardens!!!  We had a blast seriously.  Couldn't think of a more perfect spot to take your portraits Mel and Dave.  Thanks for asking me it was such a privilege to spend two afternoons with you making photos together.  Bxx

A mothers love {Brisbane Photographer}

I get a bit emotional looking at mums with their children.  Its such a beautiful thing.  My mum has always been there for me, consistently and without judgement.  She has supported all of us kids no matter what from the time we were babies until now.  Sounds obvious but its not.   These boys have their mums and it was a privilege to document the connection they have together.  Lidia you are such a beautiful mum & woman thank you for asking me to take your portraits I hope to meet you again in the future.  Bxxx

The quiet pose

I am certainly drawn to the quiet and the simple.

For a long time I struggled with the fact that I'm not like other photographers.  It doesn't come naturally to me to make people laugh unless its done in a totally genuine way.  Im not a clown and I'm not an entertainer.  It was good when I finally let that go and just tried to me myself, its my greatest "skill" and its all our greatest "skill".... being ourself.  No one else out there is the same as us so why not use it to our advantage.  If I could give a new photographer any advice it would be to work out who you are......   then let your personality speak through your images.  Don't worry about what others are doing, they have their own skill set that is different to yours.  If we compare ourself to others we will ALWAY feel insecure, we will ALWAYS feel like we are chasing something but we can't quite attain it.  Be yourself, you are your greatest asset.

My 2c worth for today.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Family Love {Brisbane Family Photography}

Beautiful little Auty caught in the natural light of Brisbane.  Love this little one so much, such attitude and spunk!  But she looks so angelic here :)
